Clinical reviewers and contributors
OptoGuide is built by Dr Ankit Mathur (PhD, Grad Cert Ocu Thera, B.S. Optom) and Dr Garima Tyagi (PhD, Grad Cert Thera, BS Optom). Because we own it, our own review is not an independent check, so practising optometrists and ophthalmologists outside the business read the clinical modules and tell us what is wrong. This page records who they are and what each of them looked at.
The two roles
Clinical reviewer: read the clinical content of a named module and gave their view on it. Each entry names the module, and where a review covered only part of a module, it says which part.
Contributor: feedback that changed the product, such as an error spotted, a workflow or interface improvement, or a question that exposed a gap. It makes no claim that the person verified the clinical content.
What a review does not mean
- It is not an endorsement of OptoGuide, and we do not describe it as one.
- It is not peer review. We do not run a journal process and do not claim to.
- It does not make a reviewer responsible for the product, its outputs, or any clinical decision made using it. That responsibility stays with us and with the practitioner using it.
- It does not freeze the module. We keep modules up to date as guidelines and evidence change, each module page shows when it was last updated, and we send reviewers a summary of what has changed in the modules they reviewed.
Reviewers receive complimentary access to OptoGuide and are not paid for reviews. No review or contribution affects how any product, practitioner or treatment is ranked anywhere in OptoGuide.

Every source is published
Named review sits on top of published sources, not instead of them. Every threshold and recommendation in OptoGuide names the guideline or trial it comes from, and those are listed in full on the references page and on clinical basis and sources.
